EMPLOYMENT  Class Syllabus

FORMAT              Class Lessons
 
1) HURT - We will try to understand the reasons for the kind of jobs you've had and why you liked or didn't like them.  Maybe it is time for a career change.
 
2) HEAL - Develop a resume of current, marketable career & interview skills.
 
3) HEART - Maybe you need eyeglasses, driver's license (or CDL) & insurance.  Don't worry about having a car yet. First things first.
 
4) HOPE - Develop your office and computer skills, we will even work on public speaking in a non-embarrassing way.
 
5) HAVE- Learning how to dress for success, building a wardrobe for work.  This takes a lot of time and shopping for the best value while finding the best, long-lasting, easy care fabrics.
 
6) HELP - Once you have a job that you like, find someone who is willing to make the commitment to do the same, and show them how YOU did it.

SELF-DEFENSE Class Syllabus

FORMAT              Class Lessons
 
1) HURT - So, do you want to be just a "survivor of abuse" or would you like to LIVE YOUR LIFE without fear?
 
2) HEAL - Before beginning class you must get a complete physical examination and have the permission of the doctor to participate.
 
3) HEART - This class is stretch & power-oriented, and should be combined with either riding a bicycle, jogging or a weight-lifting program to be as effective as possible.
 
4) HOPE - Knowing how to defend yourself does not mean that you have to kill people.  Whether (or even if) you use these techniques is entirely up to you.  Excessive force, perception, circumstances, and past history with opponent is all taken into consideration.
 
5) HAVE- Weapons and special clothing are not necessary.  What is necessary is exercising good judgement in life-threatening situations.  If possible, walk away from all physical confrontations.
 
6) HELP - Teaching some of these techniques to your children is advised, but only for defensive purposes.  School can be a very cruel place to be alone.
